Do any of you guys or gals ever fish the 129 side of the park. I know there are trout in Abrams creek, Parson's branch and Rabbit creek along with Tabcat creek if your willing to walk past "the swamps". You don't have to give specifics but, do any of you all know of any small streams on this side other than those that hold some trout.

Interesting that no one has posted on this no one probably knows of any secret gems down there as you know it is a warmer area temperature wise and lower elevation so not as good for trout. I have hiked along Shop Creek and Blacksmith branch and didn't see any fish.

Those lower elevation stream got killed during the 2 drought years. It's been a few years so maybe it's worth checking out. The biggest Brown I have ever seen was on Abrams about 5 years ago 3 miles up from the lake. While he was far less than 30 inches (probably 20-25) he was the fattest Brown I have ever seen. I went to paddle into an eddy and spooked him. He was so big it scared me until I saw what it was:eek:
Spotlight's group had a Panther Creek adventure recently, maybe one of them fished & he can report.

I had forgotten about Panther Creek. I've had some good trips in there early in the spring before.

Don't forget about Twenty Mile... that's another option as well.

Usually Twenty Mile is my first trip of the spring. I really enjoy that little creek after a long cold winter of no fly fishing.
