Does anyone have an experience floating from the Clift Rd boat ramp down to Holston River Park? Is this trip safe for an inflatable pontoon and what effect does generation have that far down river? Also, about how long would it take to float this section of water. My biggest concern is about slow moving water without a trolling motor. I'm looking to float and fish rather than paddle all day and only cast when I stop paddling. Any tips or knowledge is appreciated.

That is way too long in an inflatable with no motor (almost 15 miles). There is far too much flat/dead water and you wouldn't make it in the daylight if you paddled all day long on a fishable flow (1000-4000cfs). The only way to make that drift would be in a jon/drifter with a motor on the back.

Water wise, it is about a 24 hours cycle for the water to make it from the dam to Boyd's Bridge just above the Holston River Park.

That's what I was afraid of. Especially after looking at it on googlemaps. Oh well, on to the next idea. Thanks!
