A couple of brief Smokies outings

Made it up to the mountains a couple times in the past 8 days. Neither trip was a very serious outing, and today's trip was an unexpected brief outing. Very brief. Too brief!

Saw lots of people on the water both times. Water levels today looked great, and the fish were very active during the short time I was there.

Also met another fellow board member who came over the chat after watching me land my bow today. Nice meeting you Chad134! I did talk to others who had been fishing, and they had not had much luck. Most were from out of town, and were not being very stealthy in the approach. I did advise a couple people on flies that they should use, and some areas to try. I wonder how they did. I wish I had time today to have fished farther up Little River, it was a beautiful day and the fish were looking up.

I am anxiously awaiting the next chance to get back up there. However, that may be a long time coming since momma is about 3 weeks away from giving birth. Probably not the best for me to head up there without cell phone service in case she goes into labor.

I tried that last time, but she insisted that I stay with her during surgery (C-section). Since this one will be another, maybe I can convince her that since she is a veteran at this I am not that critical this time.... I volunteered to take our 3-yr old camping while she is in the hospital, so that she doesn't have to worry about finding a babysitter. :biggrin:

For those who may not understand the odd sense of humor that Flyman and I sometimes share, this is all just in fun. Of course I wouldn't skip out on the birth of our second child, first daughter.

Well until the third child, because well by then we will already have one of each. :p

Nice report, Travis. Congrats on that second baby. I was in the army for 12 years...I understand a twisted sense of humor :rolleyes: (those guys go WAY to far :biggrin:). Funny stuff. Just make sure she doesn't read your post. Most couches aren't that comfortable.
