David,
What? You still have more than half the month left to catch a fish that could eat all the others combined for August. That fella has a really dark belly. Have they already started their prespawn activities out there?
Hope you had a great trip, and can't wait to read the reports and see the pics.

Travis,
Unfortunately I will probably have to curtail my fishing activity for the next 2-3 weeks with school starting. By September I'll have a little more time to get out again but might not get to chase any more monsters this month. I'll have a lot of pictures including some larger fish up on my blog and maybe on here as well when I get a little time...

That's a really good looking healthy 'bow right there! Nice work...
Well folks, I've not been on here much this summer due to all the storms and work, plus remodeling my house. Going to try and be a little more active on the board in the near future, you guys have taught me a lot in the past year! It's helped more than you know. Thanks all!

I have participated in this some time back but I can not remember, is this for fly fishing only? If so I respect that I just wanted to ask before posting.

I have been waiting to post, but this is the best fish I have caught this month.
August has been pretty slow, frustrating, and unproductive for me.

I just had to say ... what a fish! I have been hitting up Sams here recently but so far nothing even close to this size. What's the secret... ??
Tnflyfisher,
The secret is about 11ft of 7x and luck I guess!

I hear you ... was down to 6x and 7x myself.
Had one hit the green weenie late in the day this past Saturday right as the rain was starting and he just pulled and pulled!! Unfortunately, it was only for a few seconds and I never got to see him... I could not believe that was a brook trout! and I was using a 5wt.
