Just wanted to pass along that the "shades of the past" rod run is in Pigeon Forge this weekend. :eek:They are rolling into town now. If your heading to the Smokies tomorrow through Sunday, plan your route accordingly.

Next weekend Sept. 15-18th is the big one. The Grand Rod Run will be in PF also. expect traffic to be heavier than usual in the area.

Wow, glad I saw this. My son has been asking to go camping and fishing all week, and I was making plans to take him to the mountains. Looks like I will be going elsewhere.....

Thanks for the heads up!

I wouldn't change my plans of spending time in the park. I just wanted everyone to be aware of the rod run in PF so they would not get stuck in traffic by going through Sevierville and PF. entry via townsend or greenbriar would probably not be affected.
looks like it will be a perfect weekend to be there weather wise.

Yeah....dont change your plans....the rodders will be in PF...AND THEY STAY THERE. Most come to town with 2 cases of Miller Lite and a pound of baloney....and leave with a half pd of baloney...........

The park will be quiet...the flow is great....

I hate crowds but I'd have to be a sucker and go look at all those hopped up rods and Cobras!

Honestly, I could care less about what else is going on ...
This weekend is going to be great in the mountains! I tried timing the weather last weekend and while I still did alright (better when it started raining) I am convinced the fishing will be much better this weekend!! Enough so that I am headed back up tomorrow. Hope to see some folks out on the streams...

I listening to your advice about the rod run, but got skunked by traffic letting out for the UT game. I guess you figured every good orange blooded Tennessean would already know about that.

Like the saying goes ...if your gonna be dumb...you gotta be tuff. I'll just need some tuffin' up:smile:

10 hours immersed in the headwaters of the Greenbrier with Crockett:biggrin:

Sweet Day

Sweet day for sure thanks for being my guide up in there duckypaddler. I am a bit sore today. I missed the rod run traffic on the way back to maryville by going thru the park.

I am a bit sore today.

For me that was an understatement:eek:

I was completely fine after my outing with Mac & Colby, but really did myself in Sat. Then did the drive 2 hours each way to see family on Sunday. Then volunteered for the park service yesterday, finished at 2, them hit Sam's.

I'm toast! Hope I wil recover by Sunday for Jay:biggrin:
