Anyone fly fish for bass in Chattanooga area??
Hey everyone,

Anyone do any bass fly fishing in the Chattanooga area?

I typical fly fish for trout. This has become my passion in life. Normally spend my time on the Hiwassee, Tellico, or Toccoa. But take every chance i can get to fish more exotic locations. But recently I figured since I live near such a premier Bass fishery I really shouldn't limit myself to only trout. So this summer I took several trips to focus on Bass with some decent success.

Now that I feel like more comfortable I really would like to find someone to fish with that lives in the Chattanooga area. If anyone is interested in joining up sometime please let me know.

Hi Joshua,

We have friends and customers in the Chatanooga area. Some of them fish the Tennessee River lakes with good success. Largemouth bass, bluegill and shellcrackers are what I hear about most often. I think more smallmouth bass are caught on a fly further upstream around here.

I know this is not much help but I don't fish for bass that far downstream.

I used to live down there when I was in school and really started to enjoy fishing below Chickamauga as well as hitting area small streams for smallies and whatever else would bite. If I'm ever headed down that way in the spring I would enjoy getting back out below Chickamauga. Had some great days on the river down there, especially during the late winter shad kills...

Joshua, I have fished the lake in years past with just about any tackle, except for Du Pont sinkers. My father and I found some good places in the Harrison area. I live in Cleveland.
