I have a Mohawk Nova 16ft canoe for sale. It has web seats and I installed a front and rear thru the hull anchor system. It has typical scrapes from being used on the rivers but no holes or leaks. I typically stand and cast from this canoe even while drifting. I use the anchor system with a drag chain to slow my drift and to keep it tracking straight.
I am asking $450.00. please email me if interested. gltroutman at gmail dot com

a few picts.

Yep, I've enjoyed the canoe but the length requires me to balance it in the middle and military press it up on top of my truck. Shoulder problems are making this pretty tough. I am delivering the canoe to the new owner this evening. I hope he enjoys it also.
I want to get another canoe or SOT kayak about 12ft long that will slide in the pickup bed like my former white water inflatable yak did. I will miss being able to stand and cast but then there is no perfect boat for everything is there! Might be looking at a guide 119 to mod like yours or a ride 115.
Miss talking with You, Brannon, Charlie and Stu about chasing smallies!

Gary, I have a 119 that I could sell or trade. It is a little rough around the edges but it is just sitting not doing many any good.

Blake, I went looking for a small canoe or kayak on monday instead of going fishing on my day off. I found a really nice demo native ultimate 12 with just a few scratches at riversports but decided to look some more. I ended up buying a new red Guide 119 from Dicks. I plan on doing several of the mods over the winter. Thanks for the offer though.

I'll think that new boat will work well for you. Saw the pictures on the other site. Although I find it harder to step in and out of the canoe than a kayak, the 119 is nice and light simple utilitarian boat.

I think they may have had the camo version in the stockroom. I had looked at it before. A few of my friends have them and the dark green version. I do like the camo canoe but having almost been runover by bass boats and jet skies on the lakes and a couple of close calls by jet jons on the french broad river, I decided to get something bright colored. You sit low to the water and a bright colored boat is so much easier to be seen by other boats. I've never had a problem with fish spooking from boats unless your make a lot of noise or drop something on the hull. the color doesn't seem to spook them otherwise all those white drift boats would be spooking fish also. I like the red. its different!
The Dick's SG in west Knoxville does not carry boating, fishing or hunting gear anymore. You have to go to the Alcoa store.
I can't wait to do some mods to make it more fly fishing friendly.

Gary, I picked the brains of a couple long-time solo canoe (also fly fishermen) guys for advice and pointers before I started modifying my 119 to my liking. I'd be happy to share what I learned, thru others as well as trial and error myself if you'd like, when you're ready to start the mods. I was VERY happy with the improvements some of the modifications made to the canoe.
