Fathers Day on the Hiwassee

I find it more difficult to convince my oldest - Tyler 17 yrs. old, to do some of the things I want. This weekend was a holiday however and it definately assisted in my convincing.

Trust me when I say, being a Dad is the best job you will ever have. My children are grown, one in S.C. the other busy being a Dad and making a living for his family. We only got to fish twice this spring, once with his 5 years old son catching crappie, the second at the base of a dam for trout. Even though I fly fish much, much more than he does he kicked my but. It wasn't about fishing either trip, it is the time spent together. Now that they are making lives of their on, time spent with Dad is less and that is the way it should be. Hopefully, they will both discover the joy of 'the best job either will ever have' like their Dad did.

Enjoy the precious time with them. It will pass too soon.
