I suggest checking out this KnoxNews.com article about an important Park streams initiative being made possible in part by fellow forum member and my good friend Carolina Kudzu (http://littleriveroutfitters.com/forum/member.php?u=6388).

National Park Offers Guided History Hike

Great Smoky Mountains National Park is offering an easy stroll through time from early Bradleytown to the present day Smokemont Campground on Saturday, September 15 and Saturday October 20.

Volunteer Dick Sellers will share with participants how this area transformed from a forested haven to a barren wasteland and back again. The hike will begin at the Smokemont Church at 10 a.m. and will last for two hours. Walking shoes are recommended.

Smokemont is located on Newfound Gap Road (U.S. 441), 3 miles north of the Oconaluftee Visitor Center and 5 miles north of Cherokee, NC. For more information call the Oconaluftee Visitor Center at (828) 497-1904.

Does he change clothes in the phone booth and fly off and catch Ginseng poachers also:rolleyes:?

And since you like remote Brookie creeks let me know if you need someone to fish Raven Ck, headwaters of Left Fork, Bulldie, or such feel free to give me a shout. It's always hard finding people will to really get out there.

Thanks again for all you do for the Park

At nearly 65, I don't get way back to the rugged areas any more, but do manage to find quite a few brookie waters not that remote. You can contact me by e-mail at dick.sellers@frontier.com.

Maybe we can get together and explore a new stream sometime.
