I like the addition of the hackle. Bet the mountain fish have seen a lot of weenies. The addition of the hackle might just make them think it is not what they fell for the last time.

Thanks. That was my thinking. I think the worm that this immitates has little whiskers on it so I figure this might give me a better shot. The great thing about flies is that even if they are used to seeing them, the color gets em anyway...usually.

Laugh if you wish but i have never fished a green weenie! But I do like the palmered version shown above.

I haven't fished it much but I figure this one might work on the tailwaters too. I have limited income so I tie with whatever I have on hand. I do want to buy some white chenille next time I'm up.

I like that. Kinda like a cross between the wooly bugger and green weenie. I think it's a winner... Let us know how it works! I also like the long tail, I may try done like that but with no bead head :)

Will do. I have only fished the normal one but wanted some buggers and my only choices were this, brown and pink...I really need to buy some white and green chenile.

I think I'll try to Palmer the pink one but first I need to hit up that dance club downtown, seduce a hot chick and then while she is sleeping cut the hot pink grizzly hackle from her hair....

palmered hackle

Looks like it would work to me...It never hurts to try and experiment.

Have your ever tried crackle backs? They work fabulous during flow transitions on tailwaters. Although, I have never used them in the mountains.

I've used them in the mountains and tailwaters. Not a bad fly.
