View Full Version : Drifting led me away...buy I made it back today!!

Last year purchased a used Drift boat. After a lot of attention and work in getting it river ready and some personal touches and I must admit its hard to get away from the tailwater drift gig when theres no hiking involved.

A day on the river with my 2 oldest

After seeing a Brown Trout portrait, attempted a boat wrap. It worked!!

Whole different arena Drifting but had to get back to the mountains today.

I thought the water would have been a lot cooler than the 65 degrees that we've seen in the Hiwassee.

Wondered which came first.....the net or the rod when I looked back at this pic.

On my hike in, this was not where it was when I took the picture(middle of the trail). Just couldn't get close enough for a better picture. The weight inside caused the branch to lower it to the trail while I was fishing. The nest was a complete powerhouse of energy moving around on the ground!!

Anyway, great day in the mountains and I sure felt the effect of the hike after not hiking lately. Humbling to say the least.

Thank You,

Glad you made it back into the mountains Breck! Those drift trips can definitely be addicting for sure but the mountains have their own charm as well...

Love the boat wrapper, yikes to the nest! Great shots, nice post

Great custom touch on the boat wrap!

Tailwaters and boating are my favorite. I guess am not fond of rock hopping at my weight and size.

You need to get you a nice trolling motor for your boat so you do not have to row. It allows me to fish more and be less spooky.

Nice Job on the boat Breck, and good report.

That boat is awesome. Congrats.

First the reel, and now the boat:eek:

You got a real Psychedelic scheme going:smile:.

Guess you'll be easy to spot on the river.

Now you will also have to worry about the locals trying to hook your boat reel it in and take it home:eek: They don't tend to care much about slot limits:rolleyes:

And if the car gig doesn't work out, you can always just put on a cool T-shirt (probably can just take from your kids) like that young buck on Wicked Tuna, blast some Widespread Panic, and if you can continue to hook into the pigs you landed with Randy, start a show called Wicked Trout:biggrin:
