Hope you guys don't mind my asking, but what is the value of a Scott G2 fly rod, 5wt 8'8" length in like-new condition? I might have a line on one for what seems like a good price. I prefer a faster rod (TFO BVK) and I've not yet gotten to cast the Scott, so I'm not sure how it would compare. Any thoughts?

I love the Scott G2 rods. They are SLOW, SLOW and SLOW. I gave over $700 for my scott rod new. A 8'8" 5wt scott rod in great shape I would give up to $500 for it. My opinion Scott rods are great 5 wt and down. On larger rods I prefer Sage rods cause they are faster. So if you like fast rods really try the Scott before buying.

Mike,
You need to go ahead and get you a good TFO.

lol principle you are always there looking over my shoulder when I post. Maybe I will let you use my scott or sage one day. lol

Seriously the TFO rods are really great rods. the professional series is what I keep in the boat for bass and stripers. Plus when Shannon falls in the boat and breaks one it is easier to get replaced than the winston he crushed.

Mundele try a tfo jim teeny 4wt if you are looking at a slower rods for the mountains.

Oh, I've got a TFO BVK I really like. I may buy this Scott to try out and sell it if it doesn't suit me.

According to condition and price if you ever sold it I might be interested. But it would have to be a good price as I already have to many rods.

FlyRed,

I picked it up. IT's in perfect shape. Plastic's still on the cork. Can't tell that it's even been casted.

Shoot me an email if you are interested in it...
