View Full Version : Any Colorado wildlife updates?

I know from the news of course the damage to homes and human life in Colorado, but was wondering if anyone had seen or heard from anyone out there about the impact of the floods to wildlife. I am sure news will trickle in eventually of the extent of effect for the fishing and hunting tourist business but thought maybe someone had spoke to people on the ground out there.

Bigsur, overall the wild critters are pretty resourceful when it comes to natural disasters. I do not expect there to be a major impact. The thing that I'm looking forward to having a chance to figuring out is how the floods affected the fish in the streams. I'm suspecting that there will be a significant redistribution of the trout populations. Lots of private water sections with big fish will probably have lost their "pets" which will hopefully have moved down to public stretches. I know for sure the creeks are going to look a LOT different. Unfortunately it may be next spring before we are able to start accessing some of these areas.
