I decided to try something new this morning. This is my first attempt at a crayfish pattern so any suggestions will be appreciated.

It is tied on a #6 Bass Bug Hook.

That is one pretty tie. I'm sure bass around here would tear it up. I've never tied a good crayfish, but I've had decent luck with brown/orange/olive wollies that probably were taken for crayfish.

Nice tie, looks good to me. You got the eye and hook position right too. Most people don't know that they swim backwards when trying to escape, and tying the eyes on the underside of the hook will make it ride hook point up. I have cleaned many trout from the the E prong of Little River and Abrams Creek in the park (yes I do enjoy a meal or 3 a year of wild trout) who's stomach contents were full of small crayfish. Nice use of those pheasant feathers from a full skin that is a cheap underused skin in my opinion. What size are you tying them in?

Thanks Flyman

I tied it on a #6 Allen Bass Bug Hook.

I tried using brown hen neck and hungarian partridge feathers but the stems were much softer. The stem of the pheasant seems much more durable.
