View Full Version : Good Friday on Beaverdam Creek

Me and my dad decided to make the drive over to beaverdam creek. It would be my first time there. We stayed in Tennessee on the drive there getting a brief taste of car sickness high up on Stony Creek Rd . I caught 3 fish (2 bows, 1 brown) all over a foot long . The best was the brown, about 15 inches. Dad caught 8 (a mix of bows and browns). We saw only 1 other fisherman, which didn't surprise us because the stream is quite isolated. Not liking the idea of the drag back over the mountain through Tennessee, we headed through Damascus, VA and back home to the Kville .

Hey man, hope you have been well. Beaverdam Creek sure is isolated and I got my fill of it last year. I am not sure what you would do about an emergency up there-no cellphone reception for any of my group. Anyhow; it was a fun place to visit and the varied stoneflies were amazing.
We did best on dry flies and copper-johns while fishing that creek.

My dad couldn't keep the fish off of a Prince Nymph variant. I tried Copper Johns, Soft Hackle Hares Ears, and even one of his special Prince Nymphs, but the only thing that produced for me was a Phesant Tail variant.
