I'll be in the park next week, 3-18 to 3-25. I am staying in Townsend and will be fishing the Little River a good bit.
I also plan to do a little backcounty fishing also.
?what flies, locations, etc....?
Any suggestions or warnings????? :-?

I would suggest checking the water temp where you are fishing since it is still early in the season. I would like it to be above 50 and possibly mid fifties for good hatches. Locations? Above Metcalf Bottoms I suppose this time of year. West Prong and Tremont are other options. I guess high up is a little early for good fishing. Hopefully someone that does fish more often on Little River than I can pitch in.
Flies? Nymphs, Quill Gordon dry, Hendrickson is still off by a few weeks.

DixieFly, Welcome to the board. I'ts going to cool off a little next week. It's hard to say what will be going on however I think you will do better in the lower elevations where the water will be warmer. You can check the LRO fishing report and get up to date information. Just click the new green box at the top of the page. We update every morning at 9:00 am.

Always good to be prepared with some larger streamers to get deep if the water is cold and/or deep. Thrown behind the Big rocks in back edys and against the banks for browns have been effevtive for me recently. Watch out for the weather this time of year. It can chage quickly and get mean REALLY fast. I've seen the river rise in March like a tailwater. Enjoy your spring break and tight lines!!!
