Has anyone been wet wading thus far this year? With the warmer air temps I was considering wet wading this week end. I'll hang up now and listen to your response.

I have been wet wading since April. I do it when water temps are 50 and up. Yes it's cold but not too bad with thermal underwear and long pants.

thanks Hans. I can remember wet wading (bare leg) in mid April just a couple of years ago. So far this year I have not even considered it. I'm going this pm and intend to bare leg it...we'll se how it goes.

I went this weekend to GSMNP, only wore my wading boots and shorts very comfortabrts. First step was cold and then it was ok.
I figured if all the tubers could do it in swimsuits, I could do it in wading boots.

Yep, went this past friday for the first time this year on middle prong above the cascades...not too bad, and made for a more comfortable hike.

Thanks to all who responded. I fished Sunday PM as planned and bare legged it. As other posters noted, it was cool the fist step in, but was very comfortable up to mid thigh...above that...well, I wasn't quite willing yet....brrr (he said in a high pitched voice).
