:) :) :) :)
This message is for Paula, Byron, and Daniel and crew.....Wooooooooo.....Hooooooooo.....Pop the cork....It's up and running, looks good, and looks like yet another way for us poor trout hunting folk to spend money with LRO...It loads a little slow on my computer due to a slow wireless connection, but all and all looks good. I know you guys have been hard at work for some time trying to launch the online catalog and should be commended. Allthough, I must add that buying online and visiting the store along with all of you won't be the same. I think for alot of the locals the catalog will be more of a place to find (drool), compare (how much money to spend before the wife finds out), and come to the store to buy (so that some of us might actually have a clue what we are looking for). LOL...Any how, I wanted to say thanks to you guys for making your store entirely to enjoyable to shop at....Good job and good luck with the rest of it I know it's still in the beginning stages, but the hard part is over.

Fishermansfly, Brett Romer

Congrats LRO, the online catalog is outstanding. I look forward to making frequent use of the catalog, and finding a way to spend more money to enjoy this sport I love.

I live in Knoxville, and am unable to just drop by the shop if I need some equipment. By the "small stuff" to be loaded onto the catalog, are you talking about tying materials?

Daniel and I were in his office trying to get the new Online Catalog ready to go up late today. We were working and looked at me kind of funny and said, we just got an order from Louisville, Kentucky. Thanks David. We couldn't figure out how he found the catalog area. It's not quite ready so we hadn't loaded it up. We found that I did it by accident this morning. It will look a little better this afternoon. Thanks for the kind words. Let us know if you find any problems, especially slow loading. Our internet provider is rubbing his hands together waiting for us to call him to order more bandwidth on monday.

Thanks again.

Byron

Yes, congratulations! I was up there on a fishing trip with hugh hartsell about a month ago and i must say, you have quite the fly shop. Definitely better than anything we have here in north carolina ;). You have a wonderful shop though, and this offers me a way to get stuff from you since i can't be up there all the time. Great job!

By the way, when will the other "phases" be up??

The future phases of this Online Catalog will take some time. I'm going to photograph Sage Rods tomorrow and I hope to have them on the site within a week. Then we'll do gift certificates. Next will be flies. We will take several hundred photos, prepare for web and write descriptions for them. I think that will take a month. Then we'll start on the small stuff, gadgets, floatant, indicators, hemos and stuff like that. We should have that done by the end of the year. We'll do fly tying tools but maybe not materials.
We'll see. The problem is keeping all those small items in stock and availability of materials is not
good. This has been a huge job but we're excited about it. Thanks for your interest.

Great job on everything and don't work too hard! I think that we all understand the commitment that it takes for such an undertaking and i for one am more than patient.

Most manufacturers already have photo images and generally like the idea of having their product depicted in the best light (read their image). . . have you tried contacting them to secure images instead of doing it yourselves . . . may save you some time in the long run if they respond quickly.

ps: as your first online customer ;) . . . what it the premium membership to the store that is asked about at check out??

David

Thanks again for the first online order!

You are correct that manufacturers offer product images for use by vendors. *Byron shoots many of our images for several reasons - to actually save time (I'll explain)...and for consistency of look.

First, Byron has figured out how to take the photos with a background that requires little or no clipping. *Many manufacturers use backgrounds in their images that would require us to create clipping paths around the entire item to remove that background (some may use a wood background, some a pebble background...those need to be removed to make the look consistent). *The fact that he shoots the pictures actually saves him time because clipping paths are tedious and time consuming.

Most importantly, Byron felt that having a *look* that was distinctly "Little River Outfitters Online Store" was important. * 8-) It will set us apart from other online catalogs that use all stock images.

Premium membership is a feature that allows us to contact you through the online store to notify you of special offers and events.

Thanks again for your support!
