Cold outside Brrrr! This cold is killing us but not stopping us from fishing. Now the fish I'm not sure about. Does the cold affect the fish, is there a way to catch a fish in the cold? I went sunday to a pond 30 degrees and caught nothing, they didn't even bite! So cold fishing hard but rewardung, or is it just to cold for anything? Thanks

When the water temperature is below 40 degrees the fish will pretty much stop biting. You can catch a few but you have to practically hit them in the nose with a heavy weight nymph in a really, really deep pool. Of corse the fish have to eat sooner or later, so give it a try. Watch out for ice on your guides though it can hurt your casting and it could probably hurt your fly line if it ran across it enough.
