Bead Head Yallerhammer Nymph, has anyone tied or used one. I am looking for the pattern that looks like a Copper John but the abdomen would be yellow floss. All I am able to find is the wet fly pattern. A friend had a couple and I would love to tie a few but I just canít find a pattern and I didnít get a fly from him before we parted. He said he got them at Little River outfitters. Anyone know the fly I am refering to.

Hugh Hartsell I'm sure can get you on the right path. I sure he will chime in, but this what I found:

Thanks Chuckwalla but the one I am looking for does not have hackles. It is more in the Copper John style.

:)Guys, the fly that you are describing sounds more like the fly that Walter Babb has tied and sold at Little River Outfitters for several years. It is tied more like a regular Stonefly Nymph than a true Yallarhammer fly such as you may have seen in the links provided. His pattern does not have the Palmering type of hackle, but it does have the traditional colors of the Yallarhammer fly. It is a great fly and the ones that I have seen tied by him are beautiful. I have not seen a Beadhead version of it, so there may be something totally different. Good luck at finding the fly.

Hugh_Hartsell, could you send me a pic of the fly you think it is without the bead head.

:) 3wt. I don't have one of those flies or I would be glad to send a picture. Maybe Byron or Daniel can come up with one and photograph it for you. It is a fly that belongs to Walter Babb so I'll let them make a decision on that. It's a darn good looking fly.
