I was wondering how the fishing was this past weekend in the park if anyone went?? I went several days after christmas and the water temperature was in the mid 30's and the fishing was obviously very slow, but i went back on sunday morning and with warm rain and mild temps the water was up to 46 and the fishing was very good. Of course i was up in north carolina near boone but i was wondering how the fishing in the park was if anyone went. Hope everyone had a good holiday season.

Didn't go this past weekend due to chores, etc. However, did go down to The Bottoms late Monday afternoon just to see what was going on, if anything. Watched and then met a guide from the Gatlinburg area. I saw him catch one 'bow and have two hits. Said he caught them rising for about two hours and was able to in hand five and see four strike. Didn't have any success with nymphs. Weather was overcast and water reported to be in the low forties.

Went Saturday for a few hours. Traffic was terrible getting in and out. Did have decent luck with the fish, the largest being a 7" rainbow. Caught a total of nine and lost about four more.

I know what you mean about the traffic...made the mistake of checking out Pigeon Forge Saturday night, looking for a place to eat...simply horrible - the only thing that place is missing is a casino, and you'd have a replica of the Las Vegas strip.
We fished hard on Saturday afternoon and all day Monday, but we certainly couldn't duplicate your results. Far too late, I tried a dry on Monday, and had my only certain strike of the two days...of course, the fish didn't stay on...oh well, better than sitting at home watching the bottle rocket wars on New Year's eve.
