I went last weekend before the big freeze and did well. They are taking the usuall zebra midges.

I went Friday and caught 2 browns and 4 bows in about an hour. Had to leave because ice kept forming in my guides (which is not good for fly-line) and the snow started picking up (which is not good for my hands). S-s-s-s-o c-c-c-c-old.

do you fish the zebra midge deep or were the fish porpoising and you fished them in the film?

tn hound,
I fished with strike indacator about 8" above the flie. I was my fist luck with a strike indacator.

Try dropping it off of a dry fly. I think the dry won't spook as many fish as a lot of indicators will. Depth should be determined by the fish. If you see a lot of surface or near surface activity, go shallow. Otherwise, go 18-24 inches.
