I will be coming to the smokies at the end of april and was wondering what flies that anyone could recomend and also any waters that would have fewer people on them. Any help would be much appreciate it. Thanks.
Pheasant tail nymphs, tellico nymphs, prince nymphs, hares ear nymphs all in sizes 10, 12 & 14.
Adams, thunderhead, yellow salleys, yellow humpy, grey caddis, tan caddis, yellow caddis, yellow stimulators all in sizes 12 & 14.
Go to any trail head that has a stream running beside it. Hike for 1 hour minimum. You'll be alone on the water!

If you'll poke around this website a bit, you'll find a page titled "Fishing Report". This page is written and updated daily by our wonderful host, and co-owner of LRO, Byron Begley. It is usually loaded with invaluable information about fishing in the mountains and surrounding waters. IN ADDITION... scroll down toward the bottom of that page and you'll find a link on the left titled "Suggested Flies". CLick on it to get a list of what's working and what's recommended. If you want to tie your own but you're not sure what it looks like, just click on the online catalogue link at the top of the page and look up he recommended flies there. Great photography! Great website... poke around a bit!!
