Fished a little while today and came upon a large school of these carp. Quit counting after 40. I had several take me into my backing on the 6wt. I think they are called smallmouth redhorse carp. Lots of fun on a fly rod!

The only thing better than catching them is eating them? Maybe you could catch enough of them for the cookout? Hehe
Very Nice catch!

Very nice! I've seen some carp when I've been chasing trout lately and wondered how to get 'em to eat. So what do you use or is it top secret?

A special design WB. I will FF for just about anything but the only freshwater fish I like to eat is Crappie, so no I won't be bringing any redhorse to the cookout!

Actually, you could not pay me enough to eat a carp! But they sure are fun to catch!!!

I can't wait to get into these this year. I had Daniel help me set up an 8wt to go after them in the Fall of last year. Now all I have to do is find the time and fish. Then comes all the guessing of what they are going to eat. Just seeing fish gets me excited though. Bet you had a blast and thanks for the pics.
