Well the first time using the drift boat was a major success. Thanks to all the people who gave some advice, I definatly put it to use. It didnt take to long to get the hang of controling it. As for the fishing, It goes down as the best day iv ever had on ANY river, and what an experience it was. We launched the boat at 9:30 at Peach orchard access. We honestly lost count of how many fish we caught, and im not talking about the little fries that have become oh so common, we were landing fish rangin from 14" up to 20", on back to back casts, most on bead head pheasant tails, until those were torn to shreds, then caught a few on a prince nymph. We were having such luck, we lost track of time, and didnt make it down to the jail until dark, it was a very enjoyable 12 hour float trip....by the way, does anyone know how many miles it is from peach orchard to the jail?

On the GPS it's a little over 6.5 miles.

Did you boys take out at dark on low water?
I have done that before. I have had to drag the boat over shoals in the dark. It is not a lot of fun and can be a little hard on the boat. It helps to have a little push from TVA to finish out the day.
But before all of that happened, the fishing was awesome.

Ya we took her out in very low water at 9:30 at night....it took us about an hour n a half to make that last stretch to the bridge. We pretty much had to walk the whole way back. But it was well worth it for the fishing that we had. My friend took the boat out a couple days before i went with him, when they had been generating, and had no luck at all, while we were dragging bottom and couldnt keep our nets out of the water.
