A group of C&R fly anglers from PA came down to the Park last week and invaded your streams. We all had a ball. I thought I would share a few of the photos. Y'all have a nice thing. I hope you appreciate it as much as we did.

Glad you had another good time! Thanks for the good pictures. I hope to visit your state for fishing some day. I have fished is 14 states. I need another one on my lodge pole. Several years ago, I spent about 10 weeks a year in Allentown. I was always working or there at the wrong time (winter) to enjoy the fishing. I have to get back someday with a rod.

Your pictures are very nice. Isn't this a beautiful place to fish, even when nothing is biting?!

I have a meeting in Pittsburgh in August. Is there anyplace within 1-2 hrs. drive to fly fish that you know of?

Barbara, August is a tough time in southwestern, PA. Most of the streams have warmed quite a bit. The Youghiogheny River is dammed at Confluence, PA and has a bottom release that provides a nice fishery in August. I fish it regularly that time of year. Send me a PM a few weeks before your trip or PM me now for an e-mail address and you can get in touch then for specific directions and other options once you know your schedule. If you have a little more time to travel, you could look into the Little Juniata River, Yellow Creek or Spring Creek, all nice limestone streams that would fish well in August.

Paula, I sent you guys a PM, but for the benefit of the one or two readers who don't know it already, I'll restate here how helpful, courteous and respectful your entire staff was each time me and my son Gino came in for supplies. I heard only good things from the rest of the gang also. Gino got to come home with a special souvenir as well-- a brand new LRO Brookie hat.

Don,

Don't leave youre fly rod at home when you're in Allentown in the winter. The Little Lehigh special regs area is open year round, has great winter midge hatches, is a No-Wading area (so its easy access) and holds a lot of fish. It will also get pretty crowded on warm weekends in winter, but midweek its mostly all yours. Check out www.paflyfish.com (http://www.paflyfish.com) for more info. Use the search function for info on Little Lehigh.
