Where to take a newbie

I'm headed up to the mountains this weekend with the In-Laws and my Father-in-Law is mildly interested in FF...I say that because he's bought a rod and reel combo set-up and has gone once with me.

Any way...we are staying in a cabin up there on the Townsend side and wanted to throw out were you guys think I should take someone who's very new to the sport and would have an easier time casting and maybe catch a fish or two? I've only fished the mountain streams 4-5 times myself, but have ff for a little while now.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Also...can you wet wade now?

Hey deedub,

You might try metcalf bottoms, little river below elkmont campground or the tremont area. All should give you a great shot at some smoky mountian trout...

There are a number of spots in Townsend you can try. There's a lot of stretches where there is hardly any canopy to contend with. Suprisingly, most of that water has very little fishing pressure, especially during the week. However, the closer you are to campgrounds, the more pressure the stream has on it. Good luck.
