Thought I would chance the Labor Day Crowd and satisfy my "need" to wet a line.
Went to the section just below the dam. Wow! what a crowd. After considering the pros and cons, I just had to give it a try. Landed 11 rainbows with the largest being 12 inches. Success on both drys and nymphs.
Really don't like being in such a crowd; however my "need" was satisfied.....

How far away from the dam did you go?
I almost went there yesterday (Sunday), but went to Caney yesterday and did alright. I was like you...I had to get out and catch some fish.

Deedub,
When wading, I usually go to the first bend or just beyond. However, there were so many fishing I decided to fish just below the bridge. Didn't expect to catch any because of the heavy pressure that area gets from just about everyone. To my surprise, I was catching when all the spinners and bait folk were not.
Guess the fish just like a fly fisherman better. LOL

I have had that happen before...you just keep getting strikes and landing fish and the spinners are striking out.
For a moment I kind of start feeling bad........
but then I get a strike and start smiling.
Seriously...that is kind of crazy when that happens.
How was the vegetation on the bottom? I heard it is pretty heavy.
Thanks again for the update.
