View Full Version : Nets and price range?
Looking for a fish friendly net. I personaly don't usualy carry a net but with the big browns coming out of the Caney Fork I am reconsidering. But the price range is incredable! What are the differance?
Look for one that has a rubber like netting. It's slicker, especially when wet, so it doesn't rub the fish's coating as much as a rope like netting would. I saw ont at LRO just before Labor day that had a clear like rubber netting - it was SWEET! As far as price differences, look at how the frame is made, what quality of wood (or metal) and the quality of the netting and how it is threaded into the frame. I've seen some furniture quality woodwork on some frames. It sure would be disappointing to take a spill & split such a nice piece of equipment.
Another advantage of the rubber netting is removing the hook when it gets tangled or hooked after removing it from the fish. With the rope or string like net, the hook can be as difficult to remove as like when a shirt or hat is hooked. Let's see some pictures of those big browns!
