Myself and UofMontanaAlum fished the clinch Sat. morning I able to put togeather a grand slam/ a rainbow a brookie and a brown in back to back fish sat before the water statred rising. We hit it again sunday and I was able to catch 8 all rainbows. It is almost magical being up on the clinch at day break this time of year and watching the fish working the pools.

Thanks Dragline. The Clinch really picks up from the dam to Miller's Island through the cold months. Several years ago I used a small grey midge with a little black at the head. It produced very well. A Syls midge can turn their heads also. I met a guy who fished below the dam who had a fly box with nothing but olive wooly buggers. He fished them on a long thin tippet. He let me know he caught a bunch of fish. Lots of patterns work. We just need work on our presentations. Stay safe.
