Anyone got $1 million burning a hole in their pockets?

Found a link on the web for the island house on Big Springs Rd. on the SoHo that's for sale (link below). Looks like its going for about a $million. I'm ready to contribute $2k towards the cause, now I just need to round up about 500 others who are ready to take the plunge.

Seriously though, I'm not much of a real estate person and I'm not sure I agree with letting someone build a house on an island that TVA flood controls for you, but I hope the folks that buy the place are friendly to fishermen and don't cause too much grief for folks fishing near "their island" as it's one of the best spots on the river for trout...

Wow. I remember seeing and coveting that place the last time I was up there. They're asking $895,000, and I'd bet they'll have no problem getting it.

That is always for sale. With the morning fog and all day moisture I would bet most of the wood exterior is rotted.

there's been a house on that island for decades. Thomas Island is named for Dave Thomas. In the 70's the TVA generated on the SoHo for months straight in order to pull the lake way down to repair a problem with the dam. All the generation eroded away a bunch of the island, and Mr. Thomas supposedly either sued or threatened to sue TVA for washing part of his island away.

Well regardless of friendly or not that is a public river and there is a state bridge right there that you will have access under so they can't keep you out. The owners now are nci I have saw the lady that live there. She was doign a good thing, last year during the spawn "that section of the river being a protected area" came out on the island to tell me not to fish. I wasn't fishing just standing on the bridge watching a little brown trout lovin. I swear the rod was still in teh truck, i think too much of the brownie to fish those protected areas. I did see some nice ones, I don't think looking is prohibited right? I am not coming down on the lady I am glad she done it. She may keep some grab hooking idiot out, or call teh TWRA if they are there.
