Quill Gordon Hatch

Entomology Question,

If there is a premature Quill Gordon hatch caused by the abnormally warm weather how would the hatch that would normally take place in March be affected?
This past springs Quill Gordon hatch was the best fly fishing I had all year and was looking forward to it again this year. Yesterday fishing report did not sound good.

In the fishing report yesterday I was just speculating what could happen. I don't know if it is possible to have Quill Gordons hatching in December. I hope it doesn't happen. It probably won't.

Maybe someone out there can answer this question. I would like to know.

The following article gives some clue why, regardless of diverse weather patterns from year-to-year, the bulk of a hatch will be more-or-less "on time," give or take a week or so:
