last years picnic was great and I was just wondering if we were going to make this an annual event? Budman and his help did a great job of setting this up...........are you still out there Budman ????? If not, what are everyone's thoughts on the message board picnic w/LRO again this year? It was really great to meet some of the folks that we communicate with on the site......

I would love to see a Message Board picnic! Everybody would have to wear nametags with their handle on it, though, or I wouldn't know who is who.

I would love to have it, i was unable to go last year because i was in a wedding, but i'm all clear this year and it sounds like a blast. I'm sure we could organize it and get it going again this year. Let's get this topic rolling!!

Stealing this thread. I have been very interested in this for a long time and to actually make it in to a trash pickup as we have talked about last year here on the board. We might even get enough interest from our FFF club in Knoxville as we desperately need to build a following. I don't have this cleared with anyone but just a thought.

I was one of the ones that started the thread about picking up trash. I am very intersted, but I think a fall event would be the best time to do this. I don't remember when the TU chapter does their yearly clean up, but we should make ours at a different time. I could do a three a day weekend at about anytime of the year. clean up then a catered dinner sounds good to me.

Yes I remember, I think we met at the picnic last year if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, Little River TU does the clean up in March I believe. I think it would be great if we could do a fall event.

I am all for a picnic at LRO and for a trash pick up. Is this more of a pot-luck feast or catered. I know my wife loves to cook and is great at it and she would love to show off her skills. Please keep this thread going.

I also heard some guys wanting to get together to play guitar and such. I don't play, but I love to sit and listen and of course eat.

A pot luck would be hard for me, tent camping in Elkmont. But either way aould be good for me. If I remember right last time budman reserved the pinic area and had to pay a small fee. I think we need to pick a date and start the ball rolling, I will put out Sept 12-14. Cross country may interfer with Gaintfish but I won't know that untill the fall. Gaintfish is involved in his high school ecology club so his coach may let him miss one meet. I may have a connection to get some bags made up (with Byron and Paula's Permission of course) with LRO mesage board printed on them he in Nashville. I don't know what the cost would be but I will try and find out this week.

If you all decide to meet up and have a picnic...we, of course, are there.

Carry on.

Hey, I think last years event was great (thanks again Paula & Byron). I think it has the potential to grow even more & think it would be wonderful if we could incorporate some kind of clean-up into it. Let's start throwing some dates out there (any idea on dates for Troutfest?), so some of the out of towners can start planning if they want. If memory serves me, I remember ijsouth saying something about crawfish :). I would be more than happy to help coordinate, and would more than happy if someone wants to take over as head catering/food finding person. Any questions or suggestions, you can email me at thunderhead9496@comcast.net
Thanks, Matt (budman)
