Backcountry fishing/camping gear

Wanted to complete my first back country camping/fishing expedition this year. However all of my camping has been in a pop-up camper in a camp site. For this reason I am going to need to pick up some equipment. To those out there that do this on a regular basis what is the recommended gear? Brands? Necessary items and items that are nice to have but not a must? Any thoughts on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
