streamer and fly Question
I'm headed to the Smokies at the end of March (hopefully). My fly assortment is pretty slim. I only have about 24 or so. BWO, QG and a few Pheasant tails. What else would ya'll suggest I have?
Also, What about streamer fishing? I've been told that each big hole holds a big brown. I would like to hook up on a big trout. Would it be even feasible for a fairly inexperienced fisher, like me, to try streamer fishing for one of these? Or are there better options for the big one? Or should I stick with my nymphs and dries? |
I don't want to start a fight with this post but.....
If you want to catch a big one, get a rooster tail and a spinning rod! That would be my only chance to get a big one out of one of those deep holes. |
OH! so those big'ns aren't very catchable?
p.s. Funny, you mentioned rooster tail and spinning rod. Monday, I caught a 6+lb largemouth on just that! not in the smokies, but So. IN. |

We're going to be in the area from 3/24 through 3/27. It's going to be with our church group, but I'll be out fishing most of the time (I hope). It'll be my first trip of the year. Jeff |
You could try a bead head nymph and put a piece of split shot on the tippit about a foot up the line to get down deep...It might work.
