filling in scratches
 

I have a couple of rods that I want to fill in some scratches and recoat the wraps on a couple of older fiberglass rods. I have read that a marine spar varnish wiped on the rod will do this. Where do you buy this stuff (looked at the home stores and boaters world) and would a general 5 min epoxy or flex coat be easier since it seems more readily available. Thanks

I have used Spar Varnish from Minwax. Make sure you get the kind for outdoor use. It used to come in a green can. It is available at most hardware stores and dept. stores. Runs about $9 to $12.
