Tremont 8/13/08 report
I headed up to the Tremont Institute yesterday afternoon and started fishing right below the bridge. The fishing was pretty steady although I must admit that I got a little worried when the first 3 fish that I caught where Smoky Mountain cut throat. I ended up with around a dozen or so rainbows by the time I turned around to leave. I did catch my biggest Tremont rainbow yet being in the 11inch range. I couldn’t get him to be still enough for an exact measurement and also didn’t want to put to much stress on her before releasing. The fish where split 50/50 between the dry and the dropper. The dry was my version of a neversink caddis modified to look more like a yellow sally, and the dropper was my own house fly nymph. Sorry I forgot to get the water temp this time. I do want to warn anyone that wants to fish this stretch about the hornets nest about 50 yards upstream on the right from the bridge. “They are mean!”
