Fishing the SOHO 10-11-08
Ben and I went to the South Holston on a warm day last sunday. We fished the weierdam early that morning and caught a few on the brown san juan worm and thread midge, but no good size. After leaving there we stopped by rivers way about 3 miles from webb bridge up stream around 1:30 and I hooked up with my biggest brown on the fly rod, it was 19inches. 3 casts before that fish i had a big brown 20+ hook up and break me off on a strong run down stream. 5 casts after the 19inch brown i caught my new personal best brown at 21inches...i caught all my fish on the san juan and thread midge...what a day! I love pre-spawn fishing on the SOHO!

cute fish, i'll take half credit for tying the fly.

Nice fish guys, the browns are really starting to show the spawning colors up there. I need to try a San Juan worm some time, never think to tie one on. You mentioned River's Way, last year I was told that it was only open to paying guests. Have they decided to open it to the public now? Nice water and fish in that area.
