Vintage is cool
My newest Bass Buggin rod to my glass arsenal. A 1970 Silaflex 322980 8ft 6/7 wt. (minty) paired with my Old Martin 67SS. A sweet med to med/fast action. Gonna be a fun summer!

Browning Silaflex Glass Rod
I have the 322975 5/6 weight, but haven't been able to fish it yet, since most of the waters are still frozen here. I'm looking forward to it.

Took the rod out to see how it performs on the water today. The Silaflex cast as good or better than any rod I have ever tried. I like the way it bends to the cork even with a little Smallie on the line. http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1.../Bass09026.jpg http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1.../Bass09025.jpg |
That is an awsome lookin rod Troutman! Where did you find it? My dad had an old glass rod from the late 70's that i used a couple of times when I was a kid. Don't know the brand, it was black and neon greenish, similar thread pattern to your vint rod, who knows maybe it is the same brand. I really didnt know what I was doing back then and would love to get my hands on it now. He doesnt use it any more, so maybe i can grab it next time i visit, think its probably an 6-7 wt, it seems as if it were shorter and lighter than my current 8wt. Thanks for the sweet pics!

Big Popper, I really admire your signature line. Is it original or borrowed? One of the best ever!

It's a little of both Michael, borrowed some of it and added some of my own bits. |
