Backup rod: St.Croix Avid vs TFO?
 

Looking for 8-8.5' 5wt as backup rod. Narrowed choices to St.Croix Avid but may consider TFO Finesse or TiCr. Any experience on either or in comparison? Generally like a med-fast rod but need to be able to roll cast as this will mainly be on med. size streams in the Appalachians. Any input appreciated.

I really like the Avid series, have 5 of them and they work well on small streams for me. I also like the fact that most of their rods are made in the USA as well. They have also given me great service on several rods that I have broken over the last 10 yrs.
