Winter Redfish in Beaufort, SC
I talked my boss into letting me off early today. The cold front had finally broken, and I wanted to get out on the water. My friend Jack agreed to take me out on his boat. It was a beautiful afternoon, and the water had warmed up about 3 degrees to between 47 and 49. We caught 10 fish total, and I had another on and lost it. We had 3 doubles. I ended up catching 7 reds, and Jack caught 3. Jack had the biggest with 29 inches. My biggest was 28 inches. I had one small fish and the rest were between 25 and 28 inches. What a great day. Here are a couple of the photos.

Randy,
The fact is, Tuck had just given the club a class on winter redfishing. One of the keys he identified was a warming trend. The water had warmed up 3-4 degrees on Friday from where it was and he was right they were eating. It was a great class. I know that Tuck has been doing well. John |
