Backcountry

This week is my spring break and im interested in doing some back country camping/fishing. Any suggestions for a short-moderate length hike to a good fishing stream? I am considering going solo but if any one wants to join we can link up and do some fishing! Any suggestions are appreciated!

Caught 108 and I are trying to hook up and go to 21 above Elmont. It's about 2.5 miles in and a short hike to the river each day. I think I get up on the 8th and we go up on the 9th or 10th. You're welcome to come along, but I still don't know for certain if I will be staying at 21 or just hiking up each day from Elkmont.

Which way you going to 21? From Elkmont it looks like 3.5 (or more) from the maps I'm looking at. From the other direction you have to cross Husky Gap...which will be an adventure with a 50lb pack...;)

Well, I was gonna say 3 miles, but I didn't want to discourage him  That was the old trick they use back when I was in the Infantry: "Just three more miles men, you can do it!" Three miles later they repeated the same thing. Somtimes they would tell us it's 10 miles when it was 15 and then call us nasty names, that called into suspect our status as men, if we complained. Just applying a bit of what I learned back in the day;)

I know this may be too late for the original post but my suggestion is to do the Huskey Gap route is crazy....that is a four mile haul....two up to the gap and two more down to the river...from the Elkmont trail head it is a relatively easy 3 miler....
