Spring Break Trip WNC part 1
 

My son had a couple days off from school last week and called me and wanted to go camping and fishing. He also ask could he bring along a couple of his friends from school. I said of course and we arranged to meet at one of our favorite campgrounds to fish a well know Fly Fishing Only C & R stream. The weather, the company, and the fishing were all good.

Holy crap! That's a massive brown... looked like he coulda taken a finger off!

I caught more browns with large heads than I can remember this trip. I could have put my whole hand in several of their mouths, not that I would have. They have some pretty serious teeth when they get that size;)

Did your guest go to Brevard Jr College in 75 and 76? He looks kinda familar.

Yes he made a quest appearance there. He said they were having trouble scheduling classes to meet his busy schedule though and his stay was brief:biggrin:

I could not tell but your guest was either my brother in law or chuck norris. Those are some very nice fish. I bet your sons friends really enjoyed that trip. What weight rod was you using on those big boys?

We had a great time:smile: One of the young men had never been camping or fly fishing before. He made his first camping trip and caught his first trout all in the same week. I think he said he caught about 20 by the 3rd or 4th day. The other one had made a couple trips with us in years past. I have taken a group of them camping and fishing 2 or 3 times a year since my son was in middle school. I miss those days:frown:, now that they are in college the opportunities are fewer and fewer. All the fish in the 2 post I made were caught on a 5wt, some on very small flies, 20's or less.:cool: I love sight fishing to large fish with small flies:biggrin:
