Christmas Dreams
It was Christmas Eve and as I slid into bed
With visions of jumping rainbow in my head I tried to fall asleep but I just turn and toss Thinking of that new reel made by Ross My mind moves far west to Rock Creek Where it is big browns my dry flies seek My casting loops are long and very tight The new Winston BIIIx fits my cast just right Then suddenly Sockeye salmon is what I see In a clear stream of Alaska right in front of me The gift from my wife, most cherished of the day An all expensed paid fishing trip to Bristol Bay And swinging the fly I felt a strong sudden tug It must be a thirty pound salmon hitting my bug Then, just as sudden as that tug on my fly line I heard a loud voice that ended my joyful recline Don, get out of bed and take out your dog I climbed out of bed still in a slight state of fog Put on my slippers and moved to the door Knowing my night was over, sleeping no more I went out in the cold, the sharp wind in my face Trying to understand how I got back to this place As I came back in I looked at the Christmas tree It seemed lonely and empty not one present to see It was only a dream I realized rubbing my hair No, I got none of that stuff, not a dream – a Christmas Nightmare May all your Christmas dreams come true |
Good one Don:biggrin: Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Christmas Cheer
Flyman,
Same to you and your family. One questions though, how does one become a Master Fly Tier and only tie 3-4 flies. I think you were being a little modest there. Have a great day! |
That's just sad, Don!
Merry Christmas to you and yours. |
Fun?
nvr2L8,
Yes, it would be sad if true. I think I am getting at least one of those things for Christmas. The truth is that I can't image a man more blessed than I have been in life. I could list all my blessing here, but you would get bored. I will say that it truly has been a blessing for me to get to know the folks at LRO and on this board. There just can't be any better prople in the world. So, I say thanks to you all, and may you have a merry Christmas and remember what a blessing it truly is. |
