home made fly turner
Many of you that tie your own flies like to strengthen them with epoxies or polyurethanes to make them more durable. I generally add poly to foam poppers and epoxy on clousers.
here is the dryer I made out of inxpensive materials.

Rotisserie motor and bracket I was not using anyways on grill , 4-6 rpm motor 120VAC
Cut 2x4 as base... free
square wooden dowel cut to length $.98 at Lowes
plastic fly case from fly shop of choice.... free
craft foam inside case used for funeral flower arangements... free
alligator clips from radio shack ...8pack $4.00
wooden stick qtips attached to alligator clips are pushed into the foam... free
works pretty good and saved a lot of money

Thats a great idea. I've thought about building one my self, but wasn't sure what motor to get that would turn slowly. Thanks for the post.

I love it...that is exactly the kind of creativity I enjoy about this sport. Great job!

Wicked Cool! I will keep my eye out for used motor. Don't tie with epoxy so much now as I don't live close to saltwater.

If you cant find a used rot. motor, lowes sells replacement kits that come with a motor for about $30. You can also buy a low RPM DC motor that runs on batteries online for about $25.
