Tying Challenge: Week 2
Hopefully this week we can get more people involved and perhaps some beginning fly tiers. The fly for this week is an old standby that everyone should have in their box and be fishing if they are in the Smokies, the Gold-ribbed Hares Ear nymph and variations of that pattern. Be creative, try something new with this pattern, or if you are a beginner tier, focus on proportion and show us what you've got. Lots of room for creativity here so have fun!

I like the rubber legs. I have never tied them that way but was wondering if anyone would try that...very nice!

Here are a couple of flies I tied up for this weeks theme. The first I will call the Lynn Camp Hare's Ear. Before that stream was closed, this variant of the GRHE was my go to nymph. It has given me some great days on upper LR as well. Only real difference from a standard GRHE is the light colored mallard back...
