New dog name
 

I a picking up a 2 yr old male black lab shelter dog today. He does not have a name quite yet. I envision him being my "old fishing dog" some day and think he needs an appropriate name. I live in Ithaca NY these days, and some of my favorite times were spent fishing and hiking in the Smokies. Anyone got a good smokies fly fishing dog names?

Current names for family debate including fishing/old man names:
Townsend,
Winston,
Fin,
Sam,
Otis,
Porter,
Max,
Willie,
Bill.

mckenzie sage and maddison river. and there just chiquhaus

I think smoky is taken. :smile:

I have long thought that the name "Tremont" would be cool for a dog.

I've always preferred to spend a couple of days getting to know a new dog before giving him/her a permanent name. That way you can find a name that fits the dog and not try to make the dog fit a particular name. Somehow the dog will let you know what its name should be.

I think Enloe would have a nice ring to it.:smile:

If you have a bad sense of humor - Maybe Paw Paw, or Cat Stair's (or Stares):rolleyes:

how about Brookie or Speck or Leader or Tippet.

Then again and it doesn't have anything to do with fishing unless the dog may cause some during a trip, but I like the "Mayhem". It's a good name for a standout linebacker in football,,, but it could work for a dog.
