Fishing Report and a Great Guide - Dial / Suches / BlueRidge, Ga.
Not to long ago fished the Toccoa River below the dam with O.K. results. The trip today was epic in many ways.
There is a women guide out there that I highly recommend for many reasons. I hope the pictures will do her justice.
Natalie, Thank You for a Great Day on the Water. Please join this forum, for it is one of the Best out there!!!
Nat, with a Huge Rainbow on her home water. She showed me me how it should be done.
I did my best for the picture in between her measuring girth and length so she could formulate weight and release.
Right before a very classy stream side lunch I landed this huge rainbow.
Notice: No paper plates.
This is the 2nd largest Brown for me and I can't tell you how great it felt to land and release this wonderful fish.
Many fish landed like this one and and many broke free.
It was cold and tough conditions to start the day.
You will see more of this lady soon enough in a local ezine soon enough, I'm sure. Rod Tip Up Nat!!!!
Nat can be reached here:
Wow, Breck, it looks like you are starting to get spoiled as a fly fisherman! Delicious stream side lunches, huge fish...what more could a fisherman ask for? Thanks for sharing!
Very nice fish. They all look well fed. The kype on the brown is cool.
Fabulous report and I am sure Mrs. Guide appreciates your kind praise! My good friend Mihai fishes the Toccoa when he visits and enjoys it immensely. I must say that you have definitely broadened your fishing skills by getting out of the mountains more often this past year. Let me know if you want to try the Clinch again one day. I am thinking I need to practice my big-boy streamers while the water is high.
Keep going after it buddy! Love it!
Great pics of some nice fish!! That brown is a definitely a prize...
Thanks for the report.
Great post Breck. Awesome Brown!
Looked like a heck of a stream.
Sounds like a perfect day. Those trout are huge. The temperature seems almost perfect for me to be out trout fishing. Your guide provided a real nice lunch also. The guide rates seemed pretty reasonable.
By the way, what weight rod did you use on those fish?
5 wt. Helios 2 w/ Hydros Floating line that I doubled nymphed with. Excellent combinations.
