Flyfishing for Musky in Tennessee

Looking for information for Musky Fishing on the fly in Tennessee. Any help appreciated.

What type of information are you looking for? Guides? Where to go? Equipment? The majority of people chasing musky are not going to give a whole lot of information on where they are fishing probably. If you want some general direction, shoot me an email...

I do not mind speaking my piece about them.;) The best spot around E. TN is Bull Run Steam Plant. However; it is pretty tricky getting those musky to take a fly. Also; getting one to the boat is another story...

Contact my buddy in the link if you are interested in a great guide to get on them. Tell him Shawn recommended him!

There are lots of places in TN to fish for them. Some better than others. The Collins river has a decent population. As far as melton hill, you don't have to fish at bull run, although most people do. I've had follows from large fish all the way up at the South Clinton bridge.

I believe the TWRA website lists all the places they are stocking musky.

If you can go a little further out I've fished for smallies with a great guide on the New River in VA. He also does quite a few Musky trips every year.
Here's one of their Musky albums:

I target them in the winter/spring when there is nothing else to do. I don’t run a lot of trips for them because they are a real pain in the you know what to fish for on the fly and not an easy relaxing day of fly fishing by any stretch of the imagination. A few from this year.
