Koi-In The Clinch!

Spotted this large Koi in the Clinch River last summer and thought if was interesting. My guess is that it could have been released from someone or accidentally relocated by a bird. The odd thing is that this fish was swimming adjacent to a large striper school. Sorry for the lack of clarity in the photos. These were from the dying days of my Olympus Tough.

Well they are just domesticated type of carp - bred for their colors, so i bet they would do well there... until they get snatched up by a raptor. Hopefully they won't become a problem

They've been in Norris for ever and other reservoirs do as well. We caught them during the recent cicada madness events

Thanks for the input fellas. I guess I did not equate them to being so common. I have not seen any like this on the Clinch River until this one. It must have been domesticated as it would not spook from my boat and it would readily take peanut butter crackers from my friend Jeremy. I read that they lose their color patterns when placed in foreign waters after 2-3 years.

Shawn many years ago when I was a kid a friend of mine caught one from the ponds above the grist mill in the watershed. I had forgotten about that until I just seen this picture.
